Thank you for your interest in becoming the Service Director for Education, Participation and Skills for Plymouth City Council.
Our city vision is to become ‘One of Europe’s most vibrant waterfront cities, where an outstanding quality of life is enjoyed by everyone’. We want Plymouth to be a great place to live, a great place to visit, and a great place for business. This role will provide critical leadership in ensuring that Plymouth’s children have the best start in life and a bright future.
In Plymouth we put our communities and residents first. We promote innovation, and value working together with partners and key stakeholders in the city. As professional lead for Education, Participation and Skills you will have an opportunity to truly reshape the service, and provide the leadership that will improve outcomes for Plymouth’s children and young people. We do not underestimate the challenges we face. We have established an effective Education Board that has galvanised strategic leaders in working together to achieve our shared ambition – the improvement of life chances for all Plymouth’s children and young people. Jointly funded with the RSC, we have recently extended the Plymouth Commission for School Improvement in the city’s secondary schools.
We are focussed on working in collaboration with education leaders and schools to improve attainment for all children and young people, to reduce the disadvantage gap, and to ensure high-quality inclusive education. If you are a dynamic systems leader with a track record of improving educational attainment and working with key strategic partners to achieve change and improvement, we want to hear from you.
Children’s Services in Plymouth offers a great opportunity to work as part of a dynamic and committed leadership team.
If you are interested and excited by the opportunities and challenges this post offers please do approach us to arrange a conversation about the post.
I look forward to hearing from you, and receiving an application.
