This post sits within the Customer & Corporate Services Directorate which has the overall responsible for delivering a wide range of Corporate, Shared and Customer Services. As a statutory officer (s151) you will provide strategic advice to the Corporate Management Team and Elected Members.
Like most organisations in the public sector we have been significantly impacted by reduced government funding and this has been further impacted by Covid19. This requires us to rebalance our finances, make substantial and long-lasting savings as well as look at the way we work. This won’t be a job for the fainthearted! In the first 6 months you will have reviewed your organisational structure, evaluated our financial systems and started to think about our medium term financial strategy.
You will lead by example in demonstrating the importance of managing staff effectively, the visibility of management and honest communication that provides strong engagement with our workforce. You will have effective negotiating and influencing skills; and a willingness to work across service areas and issues.
